Short Information of Everest Region

The Everest Region, or the Khumbu Region, is the most beautiful location in Nepal. It is where Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world (8,848.86 meters), is found. There are snow-covered mountains all around, huge glaciers, and deep valleys. It is a nature lover’s and adventure seeker’s dream destination. All is peaceful, fresh, and full of beauty here. Located in the eastern part of Nepal, it lies within the Sagarmatha National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A few of the most well-known attractions of the Everest Region are, of course, Mount Everest itself. But there are a few other stunning mountains like Lhotse (8,516 m.), Nuptse (7,861 m.), and Ama Dablam (6,812 m.). The beautiful villages of Namche Bazaar (3,440 m.), Tengboche (3,860 m.) and Dingboche (4,340 m.) are also must-visit sites. The famous Everest Base Camp (5,364 m.)  is every trekker’s dream.

The famous treks in this region are Everest Base Camp Trek, Everest Trek, Gokyo Trek, Gokyo with Everest Base Camp Trek, Three High Passes Trek. The culture here is as lively as nature. Sherpas overwhelm the population here and they follow Tibetan Buddhism. Prayer flags, spinning prayer wheels, and ancient monasteries are what you will see on the trail. One of the most spiritual and peaceful sites in the area is the Tengboche Monastery, from which you can see the mountains spectacularly.

Everest Region Treks are a life-changing experience. The trekking routes pass through forests, suspension bridges, rivers, and rock trails. You will be greeted by friendly locals, homely tea houses, and simple but tasty food. The trek is challenging, but the stunning landscape makes every step worth it.

The best time to visit the Everest Region is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These seasons provide clear skies and good views. The trails are also safe and comfortable.
