We will have a drive to Sauraha in Chitwan from Kathmandu or Pokhara. Reaching Chitwan, the hotel staff will greet us and guide us to our room. Once you are ready, they will walk us through the hotel.

We will then go to nearby Tharu villages to understand their unique way of living. In the golden hour, we can relax by the Rapti River and watch the sun set.

Following this, we will attend a Tharu cultural program with traditional dance performances. A slideshow outlining the animals, nature, and culture of Chitwan National Park will be part of our program. It helps us prepare for what lies ahead during this trip.

We will have dinner at the hotel and then get some sleep, ready for what the next day of safari adventure holds.

Once we’re done with the walk, we will come back to the hotel, have lunch, and relax a bit.

We’ll spend the afternoon with a jeep safari inside Chitwan National Park for some adventure. Rhinos, wild boars, monkeys, sloth bears, elephants, and various types of deer could be spotted on our safari. If we’re lucky, we might spot the rare Royal Bengal Tiger.

Detail Information about Chitwan Jungle Safari

Best Time to Visit

Chitwan Jungle Safari is possible all year round, as the national park stays open at any time. There is something distinct about each season. October through March is the best season, since the weather is cool, dry, and well-suited for rainforest adventures. This time of year has more wildlife, so you are more likely to see rhinos, deer, wild boars, and even the Royal Bengal Tiger.

When it’s April to June, the heat rises, and even though it can get warm, animals are often seen by water, and you have a better chance of viewing them.

So much rain during the monsoon season (July to September) makes the jungle rich with green growth. Even with some activities closed, you can still enjoy the best of birdwatching when it rains.

An unforgettable wildlife and nature experience in Nepal can be had at any time during the Chitwan Jungle Safari.

Accommodation

When you join Chitwan Jungle Safari, you will be accommodated in a tourist-standard hotel or resort near the national park. There is no shortage of alternative accommodation, from budget lodges to mid-range hotels and luxury jungle resorts, based on your preference and budget.

The hotels have rooms with attached bathrooms, hot showers, overhead fans or A/C, and comfy beds. These hotels include restaurants that serve Nepali, Indian, and continental meals. You’ll find free Wi-Fi in the hotel’s main areas, and rooms have charging stations.

There are resorts with gardens, stages for cultural shows, and quiet places near the Rapti River. At the top of the luxury category, you could get a swimming pool, spa amenities, and private spots with views of nature.

You will experience friendly service, simple comforts, and convenient access to jungle safari activities at any place you book.

Foods and Drinks

Two lunches, two dinners, and two nights of hotel room plus breakfast are included in your Chitwan Jungle Safari package. Most of the meals you’ll find at your hotel are fresh and tasty and feature dishes from Nepali, Tharu, and continental cuisine.

Besides included meals, Chitwan also provides a range of places to eat whatever you like. From the Nepali dal-bhat to spicy Tharu dishes and popular international dishes like pizza, pasta, and Chinese food —you’ll find what you like.

Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, such as juices, soft drinks, local beers, and cocktails, are available nearby at many hotels and bars.

Any extra snacks or drinks you have during the trip will have to be paid by you personally. In Chitwan, you can enjoy a variety of meals that come from close by or further away.

Transportation

You can go to Chitwan from either Kathmandu or Pokhara using an airplane, a car, or the bus. Flights can be quick and easy, while buses and private cars give you the chance to see the country’s beautiful views on the road.

Vehicles that are appropriate for your group’s size will be made available for your trips.

When you’re in Chitwan, all transportation from your hotel to jungle safaris, canoe rides, and village tours is included in what you have booked. So, you don’t have to worry about traveling, as it’s simple and comfortable.

Permit for Chitwan Jungle Safari

The jungle safari package includes all the permits and tickets for Chitwan National Park and jungle safari activities. It includes both the entry to the park and the permits needed for jungle walks, jeep tours, and canoeing.

By having these permits included, you don’t need to worry about extra costs or paperwork during your trip. You can enjoy all that Chitwan has to offer with peace of mind without any permit-related concerns.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance makes your jungle safari in Chitwan more secure against unexpected incidents. It needs to help you if you have an emergency, including hospital visits and treatment for illnesses or injuries faced during your travel.

It is important that the insurance cover trip cancellations, problems with travel delays, loss of belongings, and needing evacuation. As jungle safaris involve activities outdoors and meeting wild animals, having travel insurance makes you feel secure throughout your trip.

Make sure your insurance covers all of these things, as this will let you enjoy Chitwan without fear.

What to Expect

You will experience numerous nature-based activities during your Chitwan Jungle Safari. During the jeep safari, you go deep into the park, where you will spot rhinos, deer, and wild boars and be lucky enough to find a Royal Bengal Tiger.

On the Rapti River, you will enjoy a calming canoe ride while watching bright birds and crocodiles sitting near the banks.

Walking carefully in the jungle with a guide is an easy way to learn about small plants, birds, and local animals.

There are lots of birds in the region, with over 500 different species spotted here so far.

You will learn about the Tharu culture in the evening by watching their dances and listening to their stories.

All in all, going on a safari guarantees both adventure, exposure to wild animals, and exciting cultural moments.

Preparation and Fitness

Chitwan Jungle Safari can be enjoyed by families and people of all ages. It is best to wear airy and light clothing in neutral colors, especially green, brown, or khaki, so you aren’t too noticeable in the jungle.

Wear a hat and sunglasses and use sunscreen to avoid the sun, while insect repellent will prevent mosquitoes from biting you. It’s best to wear comfortable shoes or sneakers when visiting the jungle.

It’s helpful to bring a small backpack for your water, some snacks, and a camera. You don’t need to work out a lot before joining, but moving around and having some excitement will enrich your safari trip.

Gadget Charging, Internet, and Communication

You can stay updated during your whole Chitwan Jungle Safari. Free Wi-Fi in rooms and public spaces at most hotels in Sauraha makes it easy to talk to friends or family or post updates about your trip online.

Almost every hotel has places where you can charge your devices in rooms or in the common areas.

The main Nepali telecom companies make it easy to stay connected in Sauraha, since they have reliable coverage. Yet, the quality of cell phone reception is not as stable in more remote sections of the national park.

During an emergency, you can use the hotel’s landline phones, which will help set up calls or transportation within the area. Be sure to let your accommodation know about any particular communication services you might need.

In general, Chitwan gives tourists a chance to enjoy nature while interacting with others during their safari.

Is it suitable for everyone?

Chitwan Jungle Safari is offered to people of every age group and fitness level. Because it’s enjoyable and easy, it appeals to children, older people, and guests who haven’t visited before.

These events, such as jeep safaris, canoe rides, and jungle walks, are set up for safe enjoyment. You’ll take easy walks in the jungle under the watch of experienced guides who make sure everyone is going at a relaxed speed.

Young families will find that both animal and cultural sights are within easy reach, without having to walk far. The activities are simple for older people because they don’t require much stamina or strength.

Those visiting Chitwan National Park for the first time will discover that everything is organized and guides and hotel staff offer lots of help. The Chitwan Jungle Safari is a fantastic way for everyone to get to know Nepal’s wildlife and culture.
